The worldwide well-known pope John Paul II was born in Wadowice, a small city near Cracow. The UNESCO sanctuary of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska with its 17th -century Baroque church and the Franciscan monastery is worth seeing especially during the Passion Plays at Easter. The art deco Monument of Christ the King in the western Poland is the tallest statute of Jesus in the world. Another must-see is the monumental Basilica of Our Lady of Licheń, which with a tower measuring 141.5 meters in height, it is one of the tallest and largest churches in the world. The praying crowd at Polish churches during the Holy Mass is just an amazing view and will give you for sure a goose bumps.
