Programme

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival in Cracow, the former seat of the Polish kings and the European City of Culture 2000, Overnight in Cracow.

Day 2: Christmas concert

Breakfast and city sightseeing tour of Cracow incl. entrance fee to St Mary’s Church, Cloth Hall and Museum of History of Cracow City. Because of hundreds of churches, Cracow is often called “Slavic Rome”. During the Advent season, Cracow is famous for the competition of Christmas cribs. Poles from the whole country show here their self-made cribs; they are often worked on it for the whole year. You will admire the cribs in Museum of History of Cracow City. In the afternoon, visit to a Christmas concert, which is held in one of the main churches. In the evening, a guided visit to the Christmas fair on the Market Square incl. one glass of mulled claret. Overnight in Cracow.

Day 3: Wintry Mountains

Excursion to the wintry Tatra Mountains – full of snow and really worth a visit. City sightseeing tour of Zakopane, Poland’s “winter capital” and carriage ride to the ski-jump, where the former world famous ski jumper Adam Małysz trained. Zakopane is reputed for its still alive highlander’s folklore Dinner at a regional restaurant incl. live music and folkdances. In the evening, drive back to Cracow.

Day 4: Departure

Breakfast and departure.
