Day 1: Arrival
Arrival in Warsaw, Poland’s capital. Overnight in Warsaw.
Day 2: Home of St Faustina
All-day trip to the places of birth and childhood of the Saint. Travel from Warsaw to the small village of Głogowiec, where in 1905 St Faustina was born. Visit to the Saint’s family home. Drive to Świnice Warckie, with the parish church where the Saint was baptized. The next stop is the historic city of Płock, the former capital of Mazovia. Sightseeing tour of the historic center including a visit to the Congregation House where St Faustina worked. Return to Warsaw. Overnight in Warsaw.
Day 3: Congregation of the Sisters of our Lady of Mercy
A sightseeing tour of Warsaw. The programme includes a visit to 3/9 Żytnia Street with the general home of the Congregation of the Sisters of our Lady of Mercy, which Faustina Kowalska entered in July 1924 and became a nun. You will also visit the capital’s most important attractions – the Old Town with the Royal Castle placed on UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage list, the Royal Route, the Łazienki Park with Frederic Chopin’s monument. We can arrange dinner in one of the restaurants in the Old Town. Overnight in Warsaw.
Day 4: Capital of Lithuania
All-day travel to Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital. Flight Warsaw-Vilnius is also possible. Overnight in Vilnius.
Day 5: Picture of Merciful Jesus and Gate of Dawn
The sightseeing tour of the city. Vilnius’ historic center is one of the biggest and most beautiful Old Towns in Central Europe, added to UNESCO’s list in 1994, because of its unique mixture of different architecture styles represented. St Faustina lived and worked in Vilnius between 1933-1936. It is here that E. Kazimirowski, a painter, painted the Picture of Merciful Jesus according to St. Faustina’s vision. It is also here where you will find the Gate of Dawn, with the Holy image of Virgin Mary, visited by hundreds of tourists of pilgrims every year. Overnight in Vilnius.
Day 6: Holy Mountain and Orthodox Sanctuary
After breakfast, you leave Vilnius and drive back to Warsaw via Białystok. On the way, visit to Grabarka Holy Mountain, Poland’s most important Orthodox sanctuary. The most impressive is a church surrounded by thousands of crosses brought by pilgrims. Flight Vilnius-Warsaw is also possible. Overnight in Warsaw.
Day 7: Pauline Monastery and Black Madonna
You drive to Częstochowa, Poland’s spiritual capital and visit the Pauline Monastery on Jasna Góra , with the holy icon of Black Madonna. Drive to Cracow and guided walk in the Old Town. We can arrange dinner in one of the Old Town restaurants. Overnight in Cracow.
Day 8: Divine Mercy Sanctuary and St Mary’s Church
After breakfast, a sightseeing tour of the royal city. For a start, a visit to Łagiewniki, the Divine Mercy Sanctuary. It is here, where on October 5th 1938 St. Faustina died and here she was buried. It is here, where on August 8th 2002 pope John Paul II set up World Centre of Divine Mercy. Sightseeing tour of old Cracow including the Wawel Cathedral, Jagiellonian University and the biggest square in Europe (4 ha) with the gothic St Mary’s Church and the Cloth Halls. Overnight in Cracow.
Day 9: Salt mine and Auschwitz-Birkenau
The whole day is free for individual visits. We recommend optionally: a trip to the famous Wieliczka salt mine (on UNESCO’s list), visit to the former Auschwitz/Birkenau concentration camp (on UNESCO’s list), a trip in the steps of Pope John Paul II to Wadowice and Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, with the famous miraculous picture of Our Lady of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska (on UNESCO’s list). Overnight in Cracow.
Day 10: Departure
Breakfast and departure.
