The Karkonosze Range form as part of the Sudetes, the natural border between Silesia and Bohemia. A character of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve are mystical rock formations that are often reminiscent of mythical animals and beings. On the plateaus are found bizarre rocks, glacial lakes and rare plant and animal species. The hospitality of the people in the mountain villages is legendary, even if here the mountain spirit “Rubezahl” enables both locals and visitors into fear… The wooden church “Wang” is the most popular photo motif of the Karkonosze Range and located in the tourist destination Karpacz at the foot of the Mt Śnieżka.
